MISSION STATEMENT

KANE COUNTY ACTIVE LIVING CENTERS WILL PROMOTE THE SOCIAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND NUTRITIONAL WELL-BEING OF OLDER ADULTS AND THOSE WITH DISABILITIES. WE WILL PROVIDE SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES THAT MAINTAIN SENIOR CITIZEN INDEPENDENCE AND WELLNESS. OUR MISSION IS TO ENRICH THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND SUPPORT INDEPENDENCE AND VITALITY FOR SENIORS.


Our Kane County Active Living Centers locations are open for congregate lunch, home delivery or pick up. Meals are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please call a day before if you would like to receive a  meal. 

Kanab Location: 172 E. 100 N.  Bldg. A                              Long Valley Location: 415 E. Congregate Lunch: Join us for lunch at noon on Mon, Wed and Fri. Call 24hrs in advance to reserve your seat.                                                                                                                      Suggested donation of $4

Home Delivered Meal: For those who are unable to join us in the center, call us to learn more about our meal delivery program.                                                                                         Suggested donation of $4

Local Shopping: Scheduled weekly on Wednesday afternoon. Call the center to make arrangements with the driver.                                                                                                      Suggested donation of $5

Out of town Shopping: St. George/ Cedar City. Bus will leave at 8 am and return before 5pm. Call the center or come in to get on the list. Space is limited. Talk to the driver prior to signing up about special requests or appointments.                                                                                   Suggested donation of $8

Out of town Trip: Monthly sightseeing trips to various recreational areas such as Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Jacob Lake, Kaibab National Forest, Grand Canyon, and Panguitch Lake etc... Bus will leave at 8 am and return before 5pm.                                                          Suggested donation of $8 for the trip.

Activities: 

Exercise Class: daily @ 11:00 – 11:30am Come join our fun group and get your daily exercise in.

Tai Chi- Monday's & Wednesday's @ 10 Taught By: Tanya Meeks This slow and calming exercise offers the benefits of flexibility, muscle strengthening, and endurance training. Excellent for arthritis and balance.

Mahjong- Tuesday's @ 1 A fun and enormously popular Chinese game of strategy, skill, and summation. The basics are easy to learn!

Card Making Class-Taught By: Susan Sanders Come and make some cute cards! Sign up in the center and bring a friend. Only 8 spots available. See our Newsletter for date and time.

Caregiver Support Group- Thursday's @ 10:00 Taught By: Debbra Sullivan from Five County AOG Find support and learn skills to become an effective caregiver.

Bingo – Friday's after lunch Come play with us! Bring something to give away or a monetary donation.

Healing Strong- Friday's @ 10:00 Taught By: Viveca Alldridge A year of learning to heal with an uplifting, community centered approach.

Canyon Country Quilt Guild – 2nd & 4th W @ 11:00 –3:00 The guild is seeking new members to learn the art of quilting. Membership is $20 per year and they would love you to join.

Baker Bunch – 3rd Wednesday @ 12:30 Live entertainment from The Baker Bunch, a local band, come sing along.

WII Bowling, Ping Pong, Games and more!!!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP WITH CLASSES DISCUSS OPTIONS WITH STAFF IN THE CENTER TODAY!  


Both centers are supported by Kane County, City of Kanab, Town of Orderville, Five County AOG, State and Federal grants, and by individual donations.
